This project involves the packaging design for a premium series of products from a high-level traditional Chinese medicine research institute. The design strategy centers on the contemporary promotion of TCM culture and the rational expression of refined quality, eschewing visual clutter and excessive packaging in favor of a restrained aesthetic that conveys the institute's professional rigor and cultural integrity.The title typography is reproduced from the ancient text Shennong Ben Cao Jing (The Divine Farmer's Materia Medica), paying homage to the origins of Chinese medicine and underscoring a commitment to heritage and in-depth scholarship. The core visual symbol draws from the theories of the Five Elements and the circular motion of meridians, employing linear circular forms to articulate the TCM cosmology of perpetual cyclical flow. Differentiated dot colors within the motif establish clear visual identification across the product series.The packaging employs a predominantly white palette, imparting an academic tone of candor and precision. Earth paper is selected for its natural texture, which echoes the characteristics of raw ingredients, reflects eco-conscious values, and provides a tactile sense of simplicity. The box structure adopts a conventional, functional form, deliberately avoiding gift-box styling to return the focus to the product's essential consumer nature. Ample white space on the layout directs attention to key information and guides perceptual hierarchy. Finishing techniques—including embossed relief, spot UV varnish, and black foil stamping—create nuanced textural details, achieving a harmonious synthesis of cultural depth and contemporary aesthetics.
